What is Birdie Basics™?
Birdie Basics™ is a beginner-friendly golf enrichment program designed specifically for young children. With imaginative storytelling, engaging activities, and guidance from caring instructors, we use golf as a tool to support physical, emotional, and cognitive development in a fun and approachable way.

Professional Coaches with Early Childhood Experience
Our coaches are trained in both golf and early childhood education, ensuring your child is in great hands. With a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio, every child gets personal attention and support.

Designed Just For Young Golfers
Birdie Basics™ was created with your little one in mind — using age-appropriate activities, equipment, and instruction to make golf fun, exciting, and engaging for kids ages 3 to 8. Our classes aren’t just about golf; they’re about helping your child develop coordination, confidence, focus, and friendships in a safe, imaginative setting.
👶 Who It's For
We divide our classes into three age groups to ensure each child is learning at their level:

Ages 3–4: A playful introduction to golf using imagination, colors, movement, and basic motor skill development. Perfect for first-timers!

Ages 5–6: A balance of imaginative play and more structured skill building. Kids learn basic golf concepts and practice taking turns, following directions, and working as a team.

Ages 7–8: Slightly more advanced techniques are introduced while still keeping things fun and age-appropriate. Kids begin understanding swing mechanics, target awareness, and emotional regulation — all while having a blast.

Each class is 30 minutes long, which is the perfect length for young children to stay engaged, active, and happy.

Programs are offered in 8, 12, or 17-week sessions, depending on your school’s calendar and preference.

Classes are held on-site at your preschool or afterschool program, so there’s no need for parents to drive anywhere.
⛳ What a Typical Class Looks Like:
Every Birdie Basics™ class is a mini adventure, led by our friendly mascot Birdie. Children might go on an imaginary treasure hunt to find hidden golf balls, fly like an airplane into proper posture, or use rainbow-colored cones to learn about alignment. Our instructors weave in real golf skills through storytelling, role play, and movement.
Each session is packed with:

🎒 No Equipment Needed
We provide everything your child needs to participate — including safe, child-sized golf clubs and engaging visual aids. Just bring a smile and comfortable clothes to move in!

We’ve spent the last five years hosting Birdie Basics™ at Sterling Country Club, where hundreds of young golfers have taken their very first swings with us. Through years of hands-on experience and joyful learning, we’ve refined a process that meets children right where they are — helping them grow through movement, imagination, and purposefully designed play.
At the heart of every class is the Birdie Basics™ curriculum, a nationally recognized program that blends early childhood education with real golf instruction. Each activity is built around age-appropriate learning outcomes, combining storytelling, motor skill development, and character-building values.
